Salazar is a very
interesting patrimonial historical and artistic place, that
why is declare BIC (Good Cultural Interest). Its conserves
rest of an important Medieval History, as many castles and
towels, as many other signs of the popular arquitecture.
The town
is in a hill,…..,in a very interesting environment with
beautiful holm threes,
vegetables garden, lands and wood banks. Has a disperse town
planed as an example of a typical mountain area.
There are many different theories about the origin
town name; Lope García de Salazar in the book XIII
of the “Bienandanzas e Fortunas” said that gothic
warrior from Scotland island came to help the gothic Spanish
warriors and they stayed to live in the area ( Another gothic
warrior settled Salazar, that is in old Castilla, and the
Sonsierra, cavo los montes, that settled him and his descended,
a church and a towel with dwellings and fence de los quales
suçedieron e suçeden muchos buenos fijosdalgo
en muchas partidas e reinos………….Other
theories say that it all started in the Navarro village with
a similar name, where a French warrior settle, with other
from the Charlemagne ´s army that came to Spain to fight
egests the Muslims. This warrior had two children, the old
was call Gaston de Salazar, and the young one, Galindo de
Salazar, surname from the valley, but the jealousy finniest
with all there properties, so they had to go to Castilla because
the was chased by the Navarre King. In Castilla they settle
close to a small town to Medina de Pomar, to the one they
named as Salazar. There they builder the new family settle,
houses, palaces, and they brought back their all powers that
they lost in Navarre.
