~Treking
The Merindades are an authentic paradise for trekking, from
the international routes to the smallest mountains walks,
helping us to discover slowly the most beautiful places in
the region: GR-1 ( Historical Big Route), GR-85 ( The Emotions
Route), GR-99 (The Natural Ebro´s Walk), GR-1006 ( The
Monteros´s Route) and a long number of sorts walks (Castille
Raid Way, Salto de Las Pisas, Desfiladero de Las Palancas,
Senda Cascada de la Mea, Monte Hijedo, Senda Pico del Cuerno,
Cañones del Ebro, Desfiladero de Los Tornos, Castro
Valnera).

areas
The
Merindades offers the visitor a natural countryside full of
contrast, valleys and mountains in a landscape of shady woods
with quiet prairies, cliffs and rocky places. Always with
the company of its plenty of smalls rivers, cascades and streams.
A green mountain world thanks to the influence of the humid
Atlantic.
Hoces
del Alto Ebro and Rudrón, Orbaneja del Castillo, Ojo
Guareña, Montes Obarenes, Embalse del Ebro o de Arija,
Monte de Santiago, Puentedey, Hoces del Sobrón, Lagunas
de Gayangos y Bárcena de Pienza, Las Machorras, Valles
de Manzanedo, Mena, Tobalina and Valdivielso, Sierra de la
Tesla, Sierra de Arcena and desfiladero de río Purón
have been declared as Natural Protection Areas in order to
guaranty their conservation.
~Bird wathing
The house is included in the TRINO´S PROYECT ( Interior
and Ornithology Rural Tourism) which seeks to promote and
consolidate ornithological tourists. In this way, the house
informs and gives advise about routes for bird watching, as
well as being committed to the good environmental practices
and adapts its offer to the needs of the ornithological tourist.
